Ok. This is really cool. The guy over at OneManSho can sing backwards.

Watch this video. Seriously. It’s truly amazing.

First he sings backwards while the video is playing forward in real time, then about 1:19 into the video, it reverses speed to reveal the song:

This took a heck of a lot of work, and is dedicated to those who told me I have too much time on my hands in my 200 impressions video – this goes to prove you right! Wait… oh well.

DVD Doomed?

Victory in the next-gen war is far from decided, but analysts are already predicting the extinction of the plain vanilla DVD format.

Michael Nathanson of Bernstein Research notes that sales of regular DVDs were down more than 4 percent in 2007, and he attributes the decline to competition from HD DVD and Blu-ray. Upshot is that retail shelf space devoted to regular DVDs will shrink to make room for next-gen discs.

But there’s less upside for participants than previous format changes, Nathanson says.

Unlike going from videotape to disc or vinyl to CD, the DVD to hi-def migration isn’t compelling enough to get consumers to re-buy movies they already own.

Disappearing Car Door

I’m still trying to figure out if this is real or a fake but either way it’s a really cool concept.

After looking over the video and checking out the website, I’m still on the fence. If it’s not real, someone really needs to create it as I believe it would be well received.

Will Ferrell Semi-Pro Movie Trailer

Will Ferrell is one of my favorite comedians. He has so many characters that he can pull off.

Probably the one that sticks out in my head right away is Will Ferrell as fictional cowbell player Gene Frenkle.

Doing some poking around this morning, I came across this movie trailer for Will Ferrell’s new movie Semi-Pro:

Here is the basic plot line for the movie:

Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell), the owner-coach-player of the American Basketball Association’s Flint Michigan Tropics, rallies his teammates to make their NBA dreams come true.

The movie is scheduled to be released here in the USA on February 29, 2008 and also stars Woody Harrelson. It should be a funny movie. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Apple: Making Of Think Different

Think Different was an advertising slogan created by the New York branch office of advertising agency TBWA\Chiat\Day for Apple Computer during the late 1990s.

It was used in a famous television commercial and several print advertisements. The slogan was used at the end of several product commercials, until the advent of Apple’s Switch ad campaign.

Apple currently does not use the slogan, and their commercials usually end with a silhouetted Apple logo and sometimes a pertinent website address.

Lightning Victim News Tape Mess Up

I love hour the news anchor can barely hold it together. This couldn’t be more perfect if you planned it. Yay technical difficulties with video equipment.

CSI: New York – Second Life Episode

The crime scene investigators of CSI: New York go into Second Life to catch a killer next week, and the preview is up on YouTube:

The video shows Detective Mac Taylor as he reinvents himself in Second Life customizing his avatar and then goes into some kind of gladiator battle in-world.

It does look cool and geeky, so I’ll be watching.

YouTube Videos To Populate Google Earth

Google announced today that locations on Google Earth will now link to YouTube videos about those locations.

The videos can be viewed in Flash without leaving Google Earth or by opening an external link to the YouTube site.

A quick scan of randomly-chosen Bangkok showed a healthy number of videos already locationally linked, including a videos from tourists on a boat cruising down the Chao Phraya river and cruising the city by Tuk-tuk.

This joins other Google Earth’s other location-specific features such as locationally-linked photos, 3D buildings, and content from Discovery Networks, National Geographic, and the UN, among others.

On Tuesday, Google Earth announced that Street View maps of Chicago, Portland, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Tucson and Philadelphia are now available.

Go forth and procrastinate.
